EigenWatch: Risk Oracle for Restaking
EigenWatch is an open-source risk telemetry, validator reputation, and slashing alert system for Ethereum's restaking ecosystem, specifically EigenLayer.
What We Do?
EigenWatch provides real-time, actionable intelligence on operator behavior and systemic risk within EigenLayer by monitoring:
- Validator Risk Scoring — Dynamic risk assessment across Active Validator Sets (AVSs)
- Slashing Alerts — Real-time notifications when operators face slashing conditions
- Validator Reputation — On-chain reputation indexing and historical performance tracking
- Telemetry Feeds — Raw operator telemetry consumed by protocols and stakers
Who Should Use EigenWatch?
- AVS Developers — Monitor operator health, detect risky deployments
- Restakers & LRTs — Understand the risk profile of operators you depend on
- Insurance & Risk Protocols — Access data for underwriting and risk assessment
- Researchers & Analysts — Study operator behavior and systemic EigenLayer dynamics
- On-chain Protocols — Consume oracle feeds for risk-aware decision-making
Core Concepts
Operators
Entities running EigenLayer services across one or more AVSs. Each operator has a reputation history and risk profile.
AVS (Active Validator Set)
Task-specific networks (middleware services) that require validators. Examples: data feeds, threshold cryptography, sequencing.
Slashing Risk
The possibility that an operator's stake is forfeited due to malicious or faulty behavior on an AVS.
Risk Scoring
A composite metric (typically 0–100 or categorical) reflecting an operator's likelihood of slashing and overall reputation.
Getting Started
For Stakers & Restakers
Read Restaking Risks Primer to understand EigenLayer risk model, then integrate with Risk Scoring API to query operator risk in real-time.
For AVS Developers
Start with AVS Integration Guide to consume operator risk data for validator selection and monitoring.
For Insurance & Risk Protocols
See System Architecture for data pipeline overview, then use Risk Analytics for underwriting integration.
For Contributors & Researchers
Visit GitHub and review Security Model and Risk Methodology.
